We are seeking a Principal Technical Trainer - SME for the Stock Control System (SCS) with extensive knowledge and expertise covering both the existing Mainframe and modernized Cloud Environment. Candidate will be part of the broader PMO team consisting of Government personnel, SME Team, developer/sustainer/system integrator, and other support contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team of SME's assigned to the support of the Stock Control System mainframe and cloud environments.
  • Act as the lead technical integrator in the effort to move the Stock Control System to the Cloud.
  • Act as the central point of contact for the Stock Control System for all code conversion activities for the Cloud in addition to the continuing support of the current mainframe environment.
  • Train the SCS QT&E Subject Matter Expert (SME) team on the detailed inner workings of both the current mainframe environment and the newly modernized Cloud environment being deployed in the coming months.
  • Interact with the SCS SME team and the support contractor to assist with the ongoing production support of SCS. This includes the JAVA version of the system software to verify that the maintenance and enhancements have been successfully applied to both the mainframe and cloud versions.
  • Communicate with the other members of the SCS SME Team to assist with QT&E (Qualitative Test and Evaluation) testing and documentation of test completion.
  • Review JAVA, JavaScript, and PYTHON code for software and test peer reviews, and train other members of the SME team to be proficient when performing these reviews.
  • Conduct cross-training/knowledge transfer with existing SME team members to attain senior-level competence with SCS in preparation for future staff attrition.
  • Respond to Program Manager requests for analysis of system transactions and processing rejects and train the existing SME team members to perform these same tasks.
  • Lead the effort to develop new user training materials for the modernized version of the SCS system when it reaches the Cloud.
  • Train the SCS SME Team members to research/resolve site issues when the users at the production sites report system problems. This will be done with the support and collaboration of the sustainment contractor personnel. This will also include the writing of problem reports in the JIRA/Confluence tool set.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Successfully complete a T1 Public Trust background check or higher.
  • Support both the original mainframe version of the Stock Control System and the new Cloud based version of the Stock Control System during the transition process.
  • Train other members of the SME team to review and understand application source code written in any of the following - JAVA, JAVA Script, PYTHON, and SQL.
  • Detailed working knowledge of USAF Logistics Systems. Specifically, the Stock Control System (SCS/D035).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with Customers, as well as other delivery teams involved in the problem resolution process.
  • Ability to drive results in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work in a high stress and changing environment.
  • Experience with Business and Enterprise System (BES) Directorate's lifecycle management processes in an agile environment.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Proficient in use of Java, Oracle Developer.
  • Proficient in use of PL/SQL.
  • Proficient in use of COBOL, IDEAL C++, JCL.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft ACCESS.
  • Working knowledge of JIRA/Confluence.
  • Agile trained and/or certified.
