Metal Craft, located in Elk River, MN is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Associate Coolant & Lubrication Technician to maintain coolant and lubrication systems for CNC milling centers, applicable equipment, and perform maintenance tasks as required. Work Environment This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and requires regular exposure to machine coolants, lubricants, metal chips, dirt, grease, and other industrial materials. Candidates should be comfortable performing physically demanding work in conditions that may be dirty or messy while following all required safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Duties and Responsibilities Performs scheduled maintenance of coolant and lubrication systems on machining centers, tools, and equipment. Conducts outside and inside facilities maintenance and assists Custodial Technician as needed. Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine the need for adjustment or repair. Check and maintain fluid levels for all machine centers, including proper mix ratios of coolant for each center. Maintain coolant tanks, routine cleaning schedule, and machine filters daily. Maintain milling area cleanliness. Clean and maintain chip conveyors. Assist in chip removal from centers that do not have conveyors and empty chip containers. Maintain maintenance coolant and lubrication schedules and logs. Responsible for performing lockout/tagout. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Operate a fork truck and scissor lift as needed. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct. Education High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements. Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently. Able to prioritize assignments, work with people, negotiate, analyze problems, and translate company needs into actions necessary to achieve the goals. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
