Business Intelligence Analyst (Finance)

Hybrid - onsite 3 days per week, Easton, PA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Analyst is a key role in the Corporate Controllers organization responsible for delivering financial and business performance reporting across the global enterprise. The position designs, builds, and maintains reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI and governed semantic models sourced from the Snowflake data warehouse. The position leverages modern tools to update legacy workflows and implement more efficient delivery of information. The position plays a key role in the implementation of Microsoft Copilot / AI within the Finance division.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of the Finance data and reporting landscape.
  • Publish financial and operational reporting (monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc) using governed Power BI semantic models and certified datasets sourced from the Snowflake data warehouse and SAP, in coordination with Finance Division management. Validate and reconcile report outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with enterprise data sources and source-of-truth systems.
  • Build and maintain Excel-based user applications that facilitate the financial forecasting and reporting cycles, as well as address Finance Division efficiency opportunities; apply VBA and Office Scripts selectively where cloud-native alternatives are not yet available.
  • Partner with IT to define business requirements for new and enhanced Power BI semantic models (e.g., royalties, labor efficiency hours, COPA), participate in validation and parallel-run cycles, and build the downstream consumption layer on completed models.
  • Develop and maintain financial process automated workflows using Power Automate (cloud and desktop) and Office Scripts - including refresh orchestration, file movement across SharePoint and OneDrive, and reduction of manual touchpoints; use VBA selectively as a bridge for legacy Excel workflows.
  • Serve as a Finance Division super-user across the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, Power Apps) from application source to data warehouse, to governed downstream models consumed via Power BI. Train and support end users in Power BI and Excel consumption and delivery, promoting self-service reporting on governed datasets and certified data sources.
  • Apply Microsoft Copilot (Excel, Power BI, M365) to accelerate analysis, documentation, model interpretation, and prompt/code iteration; contribute use cases and feedback to the Finance AI adoption initiative.
  • Support the organization's transition from local network-drive workflows to certified SharePoint and OneDrive cloud locations, improving accessibility, version control, and AI-readiness of Finance data assets.
  • Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and user guides for Finance data assets, semantic models, and reporting tools, ensuring audit-readiness and effective knowledge transfer.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related quantitative field. Coursework or certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or information systems strongly preferred.
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, or Business Intelligence environments preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, Power Pivot/data model, VBA or Office Scripts).
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Power BI (report development, basic data modeling, and consuming published semantic models to build downstream models and visualizations).
  • Familiarity with data modeling fundamentals, including normalization and dimensional (star schema) design.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot or generative AI prompt engineering for productivity and analytical use cases.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online and OneDrive for business file management, collaboration, and version control.
  • Discipline in data validation, reconciliation, and quality control against source-of-truth systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented; strong analytical, problem-solving, and quality-control discipline.
  • Ability to build durable partnerships across Finance, Accounting, and IT teams; comfort operating as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and business information with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Naturally curious and enthusiastic about modern technology and continuous learning - motivated to ask 'why' and 'what if,' challenge legacy workflows, and pursue better ways of working; collaborative team player.
  • Power BI semantic model design and DAX fluency (composite models, measure/KPI design, tabular modeling).
  • Power Automate flow design (cloud and desktop).
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric concepts, including Lakehouse and OneLake fundamentals.
  • SQL and Python for querying source data and performing data exploration or supplemental analytics (e.g., source table queries, pandas, Fabric notebooks).
