As a Rack and Chassis Design Mechanical Engineer, you'll design and build the physical backbone that powers next-generation AI, from cutting-edge AI servers and high-density infrastructure to advanced liquid cooling solutions. This is a rare opportunity to solve some of the most demanding thermal and mechanical challenges in the industry, working on systems that push the boundaries of what's possible in modern computing. Our high-impact Mechanical Design and Development team has an opportunity for a Rack and Chassis Design Mechanical Engineer at our labs in Austin, TX. Our team is focused on the mechanical development of AMD's advanced server products and platforms, and your work will span from early-stage concept development through product commercialization, involving both pre- and post-silicon activities, and you will.
THE PERSON: You are a self-driven, technically proficient engineer with a strong background in mechanical design and system integration at the server and datacenter levels. You bring a demonstrated ability for innovation and continuous improvement throughout your career, as well as a track record of using your proven engineering expertise to drive best practices and value across an organization. You bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative design mindset, and strong design tradeoff judgement. You actively listen to other perspectives, thoughtfully evaluate technical tradeoffs and are willing to adapt or rethink your own design approach to achieve the best overall solution.
