Inside the Stellantis propulsion functional safety organization, the teams aim at ensuring the safety of the calibrated propulsion control system, for every region where Stellantis vehicles are sold. Moreover, the teams lead the execution of all safety and diagnostic activities for the different programs and are the propulsion safety primary contact to the different Project chiefs. The Functional Safety Engineer plays a key role in designing and delivering the regulatory and non-regulatory safety requirements, and the functional safety requirements (per ISO26262), for propulsion system electronic controls design and development. They support the propulsion program execution by participation in supplier requirements review, Safety Release reviews, development and validation activities, and issue solving and will perform detailed requirements development for new features and/or newly integrated electronic controls functionality.
