Job Summary:

As an Accounting Specialist, you will perform essential Accounts Receivable (AR) functions in multiple systems (CRM, Great Plains, and Evolv), and work with program staff to troubleshoot and solve any issues. Some functions you will perform include:



  • Batch daily cash receipts and sort them according to AR system they apply to.
  • Enter cash receipts and tie out daily cash.
  • Apply cash receipts to invoices and research differences.
  • Research missing payment information.
  • Research and apply unapplied cash report.
  • Analyze and process refund requests.
  • Batch branch banking cash receipts.
  • Research aging reports to look for trends and suggest actions.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Requirements:



  • Two to three years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applying insurance checks strongly desired.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains desired.
  • Ability to work with a high volume of checks.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented to complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and organizational skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills (verbal and written).
