Job Description: The Software Development Engineer is an entry-level professional responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications and systems that support business operations, manufacturing processes, robotics integration, and automation initiatives. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role applies engineering principles, programming knowledge, and analytical problem-solving skills to create reliable, scalable, and user-focused software solutions. The Software Development Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements, develop software applications, integrate automation hardware, and support ongoing system improvements. Key Responsibilities: Analyze user, operational, and business requirements to develop software solutions that meet functional needs. Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications, tools, and system enhancements. Create software programs that integrate with robotics, automation equipment, sensors, and other hardware systems. Develop user interfaces and software components that improve usability, efficiency, and system performance. Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects and performance issues. Support maintenance and enhancement of existing software systems and applications. Develop and maintain software modules, ensuring effective integration with larger system architectures. Create technical documentation, diagrams, flowcharts, and process models to support software development and implementation activities. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements. Conduct software testing and validation activities to ensure reliability, functionality, and quality standards are met. Recommend upgrades, improvements, and modernization opportunities for existing software and systems. Assist with software deployment, system integration, and post-implementation support. Apply coding standards, software development best practices, and version control methodologies. Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives within the software development team. Skills: C#.NET, C++ Programming Language, Computer Programming, Embedded C, Microsoft VSS, Python (Programming Language), Software Development Education & Experience: No previous professional experience\| Required Pay Range: $75,400.00 - $99,015.00 Pay Range Explained: This role in Livermore, California pays between $75,400.00 and $99,015.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations.
