ualr.edu/trojanworks Summary of Job Duties:Extra Help/Trojan Works Student Workers serve in various roles across campus as Institutional Work-Study (IWS) student workers. Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service, answering phones, and clerical work. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. This position is a provisional appointment with UA Little Rock and is funded through a grant or contract. Annual position renewal is contingent upon continued grant funding and satisfactory job performance.

The Trojan Works/Trojan Forge Attendant is an hourly extra help assistant position available for students who do not qualify for Federal Work Study. It will serve as a front-line customer service representative and technical support to the Trojan Forge, including managing student reservations, managing physical supplies/inventory, and assisting in the coordination of assigned office activities.

The incumbent will work with students utilizing the Trojan Forge's resources. This position will manage inventory, equipment, scheduling reservations, community engagement, usage data, and other clerical duties as assigned. This position reports directly to the Director of Academic Affairs Retention Office. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Degree-seeking UA Little Rock students enrolled in classes at the time of application;
  • Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States;
  • Flexible availability M-F 9am to 5pm;
  • Must be ineligible for Federal Work-Study (FWS).
  • Maintain good standing with the UA Little Rock

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and clarification to potential students, current students, graduates,
  • and/or program affiliates;
  • Answer incoming calls/emails and forward them to the appropriate staff member if
  • necessary and/or document all messages;
  • Assist students in scheduling reservations for equipment;
  • Assist with overall customer service departmental goals by supporting staff, faculty,
  • students and other Forge staff when needed;
  • Provide technical assistance to students utilizing specialized forge equipment and
  • resources;
  • Manage and track physical supplies and inventory levels for the Trojan Forge;
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, organized, and ready for student use;
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Trojan Forge;
  • Oversee and manage the student reservation system for forge space and equipment;
  • Collect and report usage data;
  • Perform general clerical duties and assist in community engagement activities;
  • Attend and actively participate in scheduled training sessions and staff meetings;
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

  • Willingness to learn how to use equipment in the Trojan Forge, including 3D Printers,
  • sewing machines, sublimation printers, and more;
