Senior Security Specialist LOCATION: Lackland AFB, TX JOB STATUS:Full-time CLEARANCE: TS/SCI TRAVEL:Limited, as needed Astrion has an exciting opportunity fora Senior Security Specialist to support the Joint Cyber Command and Control Program (JCC2) located at the Lackland AFB in Texas. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must have and be able to maintain and active TS/SCI clearance
RESPONSIBILITIES: The position provides visitor control and program security administration to include personnel and information security functions as needed to ensure visitors are greeted professionally and receive assistance as necessary for access to HN Directorate buildings and/or secure facilities. The position is responsible to the Information Protection (IP) lead for entry and circulation control and other administrative duties. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Check identification of all visitors and ensure all are sponsored and properly cleared via DISS, successor system, or a local database
- Determine visitor's need to enter the building, log visitors in, issue visitor badges and notify hosts of visitor arrivals
- Ensure visitors are not introducing any prohibited items (cell phones, smart watches, tablets, etc.)
- Perform and/or assist government employees with inspecting bags and hand-carried items
- Receive packages from outside agencies (UPS, Fed Ex, etc.) and distribute in accordance with facility standard operating procedures
- Check assigned personnel and ensured they have and are displaying authorized access badges
- Perform emergency procedures for bomb threat, active shooter, force protection, anti-terrorism, fire evacuation and other emergency situations in accordance with emergency procedures checklists
- Account for all logs, instructions, equipment and badges at the beginning and end of each scheduled workday
- Assist with personnel security, information security and entry control functions
Required skills may include but not be limited to:
- Familiarity with security policy/manuals and the appropriate DoD and Air Force directives, manuals, and instructions
- Familiarity with DISS (or successor system)
- Able to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, military/civilian personnel, and industry partners
- Able to accurately convey information both in written and verbal format.
Other requirements may include but are not limited to:
- Must be willing to adapt to contingency schedule if required by unit in unusual cases of emergency or critical mission support need
- Must be able to identify classified documents/information and know proper safeguarding
- Must complete all required security training in accordance with DoD and Air Force regulations for those filling the role of security assistant
