Position Overview:

Neogenyx Fuels has an opportunity for a Plant Specialist to join our Team at a high-pressure steam plant, located in Valhalla, NY. Neogenyx is looking for a highly motivated individual to operate the plant and all associated equipment. The Plant and equipment include 4 B&W high pressure boilers, Chemical feed systems, steam turbine and electric driven water pumps and all associated boiler equipment. The plant is operated 24/7/365 to provide steam and hot water to the covered campus. The individual would be required to work a 12-hour rotating shift. This position requires accurate and accountable performance of all necessary duties to ensure safe and complaint operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain daily operation of a gas and oil fueled high-pressure steam facility.

  • Perform assigned tasks required to maintain compliance with environmental permits.

  • Coordinate and participate with subcontractors and equipment service work.

  • Ensure safe and optimum steam generation facility operations.

  • Perform frequent rounds of plant and report any abnormalities.

  • Perform proper shift turnovers at beginning and end of shifts.

  • Prepare and maintain daily reports.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

  • Adhere to an assigned work schedule including the availability to be on-call as assigned by supervisor.

  • Learn and operate various control systems for the plant.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for plant start-up and shut down.

  • Stay within operating parameters set by Manager and notify management of any production problems.

  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.

  • Maintain shift logs for all shift activities.

  • Field trouble calls from customers and document as required.

  • Adhere to all company and customer safety requirements and policies.

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience in lieu of diploma.

  • Minimum 2 years equipment experience using mechanical, electrical, instrument or control system skills.

  • Valid US driver's license.

  • A high-pressure steam operator license within any state of the USA.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with high pressure boiler operation desirable.

  • Experience with a rotating shift schedule.

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, both AC and DC, and Arc Flash Hazards.

  • Knowledge of steam production and all associated equipment needed.

  • Basic computer skills including e-mail and data entry using Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The anticipated hourly range for this role is $33.65-$48.80 per hour (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
