Job Description: Purpose:

Acts as a senior technical team member of data and digital solutions engineering team including custom applications, vendor applications, software-as-a-service, and other services related to data management. As the primary overseeing data management, collaborate with technology and business to deliver solutions and provide expertise for data models, data integration, and data access. Deliver "hands-on" development to maintain and support applications and databases. Engage in strategic initiatives as required to meet the Bank's business and technology objectives.

Major Accountabilities: Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Contribute ideas to the maintenance of the Core Bank Data Model.
  • Based upon the Data Management Roadmap, recommend technical direction and participate in the implementation of solutions.
  • Analyze project requirements and design and implement data management solutions when required.
  • Adhere to and provide recommendation for data management practices including the proper use of standards, frameworks, and reusable components.
  • Understand and follow agile project processes as prescribed.
  • Follow and recommend improvements to existing engineering processes including source code management, secure coding standards and code review, and change management.
  • Maintain awareness of the data management tool market, new products, and product improvements.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing data management designs.
  • Recommend solutions to improve data management.
  • Respond to customer queries and concerns in a timely fashion. Suggest new designs to eliminate future issues.
  • Provide technical support of data management solutions.
  • Perform system failure analysis and drive corrective actions. Participate in root cause analysis and suggest long term solutions.
Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge: Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience required.

Experience:

Minimum of three years of experience in data management in a large, regulated financial services (preferably banking) environment is required.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Experience with hands-on requirements gathering and analysis, data modeling, development and implementation of data architectures including RDBMS and Data Lake House is required.
  • Experience with data integration involving databases and SaaS products utilizing APIs, file transfer, including ETL and ELT methods is required.
  • Amazon Web Services experience, including with RDS, Glue Databrew, S3, and Lake Formation
  • Scaled Agile / SAFe practices; Scrum master experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of operating systems, application security configurations, and best practices in Windows and UNIX environment is required.
  • Ability to take the initiative to pursue assignments, responsibilities, and support requests to a logical and final solution and to employ System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards is required.
  • Experience integrating with CI systems such as Bamboo, Chef and Jenkins
  • Relational Database Management Systems, such as Oracle, including PL/SQL and expert SQL
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management tools
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Google and Azure is highly desirable.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure either independently or as a member of a team.

Salary Range: $185k- $210k
