Job Title: SRE/Production Management Engineer

Location(s): Plano, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced engineer who is proficient in managing production systems, ensuring their stability, scalability, and resilience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scripting, cloud technologies, and system troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
  • Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation.
  • Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity.
  • Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development.
  • Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications:
  • Scripting knowledge - Shell/PowerShell.
  • AWS Knowledge - CloudWatch, EKS, SQS.
  • Resiliency - Experience in Sustained Resiliency and Disaster recovery activities.
  • PL/SQL knowledge - Proficient in writing DDL, DML statements for troubleshooting application issues and data analysis.
  • SFTP - Knowledge about SFTP protocol.
  • Certificates - Understanding of SSH keys and certificates.
  • Scheduling tools - Knowledge of scheduling tools like Autosys or Control-M.
  • MQ Messaging - Good understanding of MQ messaging.
  • Web Servers - Understanding of web servers like Apache / Tomcat and IIS on Windows.
  • Communication - Strong communication skills for incident management.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Python programming skills.
  • AWS - Terraform.
  • Kafka messaging - Understanding of how Kafka messaging works.
  • Jules / Jenkins / CICD.
  • SLI and SLO management.
  • SRE mindset with a willingness to utilize AI in production support.
