Job Title: Service Engineer

Location(s): Dalton, GA

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise data center and server environments, including next-generation AI infrastructure. This role focuses on maximizing system uptime through hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and exceptional customer service. While prior AI experience is not required, candidates should possess strong server and data center fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support for enterprise server and data center hardware.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and operating system issues.
  • Perform server installations, hardware upgrades, component replacements, and system builds.
  • Replace and troubleshoot CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, storage devices, and complete server systems.
  • Perform firmware updates and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate.
  • Follow established Plans of Action (POAs) and service procedures.
  • Document all service activities accurately and in real time.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal technical teams throughout service engagements.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support extended coverage as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of new technologies, including AI server platforms.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in data center operations, field service, server support, or enterprise hardware support.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise server hardware.
  • Experience performing:
    • Server builds
    • Server swaps and deployments
    • CPU replacements
    • Memory upgrades
    • Power supply replacements
    • GPU installations and replacements
    • Full server replacements
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware failures.
  • Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work on-call and support occasional schedule changes.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dell or other OEM hardware certifications.
  • Experience supporting liquid- or water-cooled servers.
  • Personal experience building PCs or workstations.
  • Experience supporting AI infrastructure or GPU-based server platforms.

  • Linux familiarity.
  • Experience following documented troubleshooting procedures.

  • Experience maintaining accurate service records.

  • Works effectively within a team.
  • Provides detailed technical explanations and examples.

This position is well suited for experienced field service engineers, data center technicians, server engineers, or infrastructure support professionals who enjoy hands-on hardware work and customer interaction while supporting enterprise and AI-ready infrastructure.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (occasional shift support and on-call required).
  • On-Call: Required.
  • Security Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required.
