Position Overview

The Electrical Engineer will perform a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities. This role requires applying broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and DOEcomplex requirements.

You will:

Perform conventional engineering design, analysis, and calculations.
Develop, review, and support engineering design packages.
Provide construction, field, and project engineering support.
Work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidiscipline team.
Apply engineering technology and tools to deliver highquality work.
Interface with stakeholders across disciplines in a fastpaced environment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABETaccredited institution.
Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering experience aligned with the responsibilities above.
Working knowledge of industry, regulatory, and DOE/NNSA codes, standards, and criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
Proven knowledge of commonly applied codes and standards at DOE and DoD facilities (e.g., NQA1, IBC, NFPA, NEC).
Prior experience facilitating and developing engineering design packages.
Familiarity with typical engineering deliverables (e.g., construction documents).
Experience with computeraided design/drafting software or markup tools.

Clearance Requirements

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.

U.S. citizenship is required (with very limited exceptions).
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.

Work Schedule

This role may require a weekendshift schedule:

After completion of a training period, employees may work Friday-Monday, 10hour shifts.
The training period will follow a Tuesday-Friday, 10hour shift schedule.
Shift/weekend assignments are determined by management based on operational needs.
Summary

Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses. Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline. Performs conventional structural design and analysis. Provides system integration within and across disciplines. Provides construction and project support. May lead projects and supervise the work of others. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work. Leads work process improvement to meet customer needs.

Education

Position typically requires a baccalaureate degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and, practical work experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above.

This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
