Location: Midlothian, VA (Hybrid / Local Travel Required)
Job Type: Part-Time (Up to 10 Hours Per Week)
Schedule: Flexible; primarily business hours with occasional evening networking events
Compensation: Hourly Rate + Commission Plan

About the Role

Networking Technologies + Support (NTS) is seeking an energetic, outgoing, and relationship-driven Lead Development Specialist to help expand our managed IT, cybersecurity, and technology services business throughout Virginia and surrounding markets.

This flexible, part-time opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, attending community and industry events, and building professional relationships. The role focuses on generating qualified business opportunities by engaging prospective clients and introducing them to the NTS sales team.

Unlike a traditional sales position, the Lead Development Specialist is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and nurturing prospective clients before transitioning them to an NTS Account Executive or Sales Leader for the formal sales process.

Key Responsibilities Lead Generation & Business Development
  • Attend industry events, conferences, networking functions, trade shows, Chamber of Commerce meetings, healthcare conferences, and community business events representing NTS.

  • Build relationships with prospective clients to identify opportunities where NTS technology solutions can provide value.

  • Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, and community engagement.

  • Conduct introductory conversations to understand business needs, timelines, and decision-makers.

  • Maintain a steady pipeline of qualified opportunities for the NTS sales team.

Lead Qualification
  • Evaluate prospective clients to determine business fit and potential opportunities.

  • Gather information regarding company size, technology environment, current challenges, and business objectives.

  • Document prospect information and qualification notes within the CRM.

  • Ensure leads meet established qualification criteria before handing them off to the sales team.

Sales Team Collaboration
  • Coordinate introductions and meetings between qualified prospects and NTS Account Executives.

  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to ensure a seamless transition of qualified opportunities.

  • Participate in periodic pipeline meetings and provide updates on networking activities and lead generation efforts.

  • Support strategic account targeting initiatives.

Brand Representation
  • Represent NTS professionally at networking events, client meetings, and community functions.

  • Promote NTS managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud, and technology services.

  • Develop long-term relationships with healthcare organizations, local government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and commercial businesses.

Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.

  • Experience in business development, lead generation, recruiting, account management, customer success, sales support, community outreach, or similar client-facing roles preferred.

  • Comfortable engaging executive-level decision-makers.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent follow-up and documentation practices.

  • Experience using CRM software is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for meetings and networking events.
