| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The East Carolina University School of Music is one of the premier music schools in the Southeast with recognized and comprehensive music programs. Its predominantly online MM in Music Education degree recently was commended by the National Association of Schools of Music. But beyond all the physical facilities, electronics, and square footage, you will notice a feeling of excitement about the school, an atmosphere of camaraderie and belonging. The School of Music has a warm, caring atmosphere that you can't see in a picture or find on a list. But you can feel it as soon as you enter the building and begin interacting with the staff, students, and faculty. |
| Primary Purpose of Position |
The Coordinator of Audio Services will serve as the chief recording engineer and audio technician in support of the academic and educational programs in the School of Music and instructor of Music Technology courses.
Primary responsibilities:
- Serve as chief recording engineer and audio technician in support of the academic and educational programs.
- Recruit, train, and oversee graduate and undergraduate students who serve as engineering crews for SRAPAS and School of Music events both on and off campus.
- Select and procure media and recording equipment and software for the School of Music and its performance spaces.
- Provide technical support for opera, jazz, ECU NewMusic, and SRAPAS productions.
- Manage the streaming servers for web broadcasts of School of Music events.
- Coordinate with the Music Library to archive School of Music recordings.
- Teach course(s) in music technology.

Master's degree; or Bachelor's degree in music or performing arts discipline with at least two years of relevant experience. |
