What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a talented, experienced Senior Lease Administrator based in our Fremont, CA office to manage a regional portfolio of locations. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and possess a high level of competence in performing a full range of lease administration functions in an extremely fast paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity. The person needs to be a strong communicator who is detailed oriented and able to react with appropriate urgency to situations and constantly shifting priorities.


What You'll Do
  • Abstracting & Lease Data Management: Responsible for accurately abstracting lease agreements, including updating and maintaining all lease information and data (critical dates, options, rights, clauses, and all payable information) into Tesla database. Track and monitor critical dates; Perform data projects as needed to maintain integrity of database
  • Financial: Review and process payments of all lease related expenses - revise and dispute as necessary; Analyze and review all operating expense reconciliations and perform desktop audits as necessary; Capture cost avoidance and recoveries; Manage tenant allowance billings and collections; Manage security deposit collections for closed locations
  • Lease Compliance: Confirm possession with Construction team and issue formal notifications to landlords as necessary; Resolve Landlord and Tenant lease disputes - must be able to negotiate, offer alternatives and understand the consequences of the positions taken; Initiate to completion landlord lease repair and maintenance compliance
  • Due Diligence: Complete diligence necessary to prepare Commencement Date Agreements and Estoppels; Issue Renewal Option letters and default notices, as required; Coordinate with cross functional partners on location closures - provide surrender language guidance, issue termination notices as necessary and ensure proper cessation of rents
  • Partner closely with internal Tesla teams such as Legal, Real Estate, Design, Construction, Finance, Vendor Changes, Tax, Internal Audit, Facilities Operations, Workplace and Accounts Payable; Provide reports and information as required

What You'll Bring
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance or relevant areas and/or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • 5-7 years of Lease Administration or Commercial Property Management experience required
  • Ability to read and understand commercial real estate lease terms and complex legal positions with a basic knowledge of construction, building repair and maintenance
  • Proactive, analytical, strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple and high volume of tasks and projects with the added ability to work independently and drive solutions to problems/issues
  • Effective oral and written communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build an environment of trust with all levels of the business in a cross functional environment
  • Excellent computer skills. High level Excel skills, proficient in lease administration/database software and Microsoft Word

    Expected Compensation
    $64,000 - $228,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
