DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the flow of information between executive offices, legislators, constituents, and the department by managing inquiries, maintaining records, and assisting with policy research. As a Legislative Liaison 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Inquiry Management: Track, review, and coordinate inquiries from executive and legislative offices
  • Constituent Support: Respond to verbal and written questions by gathering information and preparing clear replies
  • Policy Research: Analyze legislation, regulations, and policies to support accurate and timely responses
  • Legislative Representation: Represent the department at legislative and governmental meetings, hearings, and briefings
  • Regulatory Review: Develop recommendations regarding laws and regulatory changes that impact the department's mission and operations
  • Office Coordination: Work with staff, program areas, and external partners to ensure accurate submissions and timely communication

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Annville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of professional and varied governmental experience which included at least three years of work in legislative or policy analysis; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Willing and able to work in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania
  • Experience in varied office management or staff work
  • Highest level of education such as doctorate, master's degree, bachelor's degree, associate's degree, some college, high school diploma or GED, or other
  • Experience working with executive or legislative constituent or customer concerns
  • Experience in preparing legislative or customer service responses
  • Experience with administrative or computer software applications such as database tracking
