What to Expect
The Facilities Instrumentation and Controls Associate Manager is responsible for leading the I&C team in support of Facilities Maintenance at Gigafactory Nevada. Drawing on deep industry experience and technical expertise, this role provides strategic leadership to the I&C Technician Team for maintenance, installation, and reliability programs. In addition to ensuring efficient and high-quality execution of work, the Associate Manager drives the continuous evolution and optimization of Facilities Maintenance I&C programs, processes, and standards while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
What You'll Do
- Plan, lead, and coordinate Instrumentation & Controls operations, directing technicians in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, and Wastewater Systems work execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize policies, operations, and material/human resource allocation
- Mentor I&C team members through training, skill gap analysis, and development programs to elevate capabilities and performance
- Resolve complex technical issues as escalation point and incident commander during facility emergencies, managing cross-shift operational priorities
- Drive problem-solving using data analysis, implement solutions, and ensure PM/SOP compliance while developing actionable work plans and performance tracking
- Oversee task execution with data-driven strategies to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability across shift and departmental activities
- Advance I&C program improvements and reliability initiatives in alignment with organizational objectives and facility-wide goals
What You'll Bring
- Associate's degree or 6+ years' industrial experience (semiconductor, pharma, or battery manufacturing preferred) with leadership/supervisory background
- Expertise in control systems, industrial communication protocols, and process measurement devices
- Skilled in interpreting technical data, P&ID/PFD diagrams, and prioritizing workflows in complex operational settings
- Familiarity with calibration documentation, PPE compliance, and emergency alarm response procedures
- Physical ability to perform prolonged standing/walking, lift 10-20 lbs, and work in hazardous environments (chemical storage, waste plants, heavy equipment rooms)
- OSHA 30 certification obtainable within 3 months; flexibility for 24x7 shift work in manufacturing operations
- Strict adherence to safety protocols, including PPE use in areas with hazardous chemical exposure risks
