Overview

Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team! In this role, you will perform PET/CT procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, imaging protocols, and radiation safety, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. You will work closely with providers and clinical staff, acting as a liaison with radiology, and play a key role in maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. Success in this role also requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Pay & Benefits

  • Expected hiring range: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Performs PET scan procedures to include injection of radiopharmaceutical, setup of protocol, reconstruction and development of images, coordination of image on report function and archiving of images.
  • Assists with collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information.
  • Utilize protocol standards and, when necessary, adapt and modify protocols to match the patients physical, mental, and emotional abilities to achieve the highest quality study possible.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort prior to, during, and after procedure.
  • Observe OSHA, HIPAA, and all other applicable regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Travel to clinics is required.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine
  • Licensed by the state of Illinois to perform Nuclear Medicine and Radiography procedures due to the dual nature of PET/CT
  • Current NMTCB and/or ARRT certification required
  • PET/CT experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills

Requires ability to reach above shoulder height. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
