Shift: 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday (5:00am - 3:00 pm); possible overtime Friday - Saturday

Position Description:

The Equipment Operator Level 3 is an expert in machine operations, troubleshooting, and process optimization. This role serves as a leader on the production floor, overseeing operations, providing advanced training, and ensuring peak efficiency and product quality.

Position Responsibilities:



  • Operate, oversee, and optimize the performance of all manufacturing equipment within the assigned area.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex equipment issues, collaborating with maintenance teams as needed.
  • Develop and implement advanced maintenance schedules and protocols.
  • Conduct detailed quality assessments and lead initiatives to improve product standards.
  • Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 operators, fostering skill development and teamwork.
  • Act as a liaison between operators and supervisors, providing feedback and recommendations
  • May be required to do other duties as requested by coordinator or supervisor.



Required QUALIFICATIONS AND Experience:



  • Completion of Level 2 requirements and promotion by supervisor.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in wood flooring manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to train and develop team members.



Training & Progression:



  • Advanced leadership training and certification in equipment operation.
  • Continuous improvement workshops and specialized technical training.
  • Eligible for leadership roles or lateral progression into supervisory positions.



SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Ability to wear and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policies and procedures.
  • Vision capability to clearly see up to 180 feet for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Ability to read and interpret 1/8-inch text on specification sheets and computer screens.
  • Physical ability to grasp, lift, and pull boards requiring up to 50 pounds of force with both hands to heights of 5 feet 6 inches, up to 50 times per week on average.
  • Visual acuity to detect defects in materials and products.
  • Competence in safely operating hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment.
  • Capacity to stand for up to 10 hours per shift in intervals of 2-3 hours or more.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and completing logs and specification documentation.
  • Ability to navigate stairs as necessary.
  • Physical reach of up to 2.5 feet.
  • Strength to lift up to 25 pounds for 10 hours, at intervals of 2-3 hours.
  • Dexterity to grasp and pull weights up to 25 pounds for up to 10 hours at similar intervals.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with coworkers, coordinators, and supervisors.
  • Capability to push and pull buttons for up to 10 hours.
  • Full range of motion and articulation in arms, hands, and shoulders.
  • Ability to operate touchscreens and traditional computer interfaces as required for job duties.
