Posting Summary
The Transfusion Medicine Medical Director will hold a crucial leadership role in maintaining patient safety, regulatory compliance, and advancing transfusion medicine practices within RWJMS and RWJUH. This faculty member will serve as both a collaboratory and leader of the multidisciplinary transfusion team at RWJMS and RWJUH; will be an active participant in the educational programs of the Department, including teaching medical students, residents, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities. The Division is responsible for Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital ( RWJUH), the school's 650-bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.

Academic rank and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and academic experience.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • An MD, DO, or MBBS degree is required.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in New Jersey.
  • Specialty board certification in Clinical Pathology OR Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
  • Subspecialty board certification in Blood Banking & Transfusion Medicine.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in blood banking.
