The Senior Payroll Analyst is an experienced individual contributor responsible for executing and supporting complex payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions and pay cycles. This role applies advanced judgment to resolve escalated payroll, tax, and compliance issues; supports audits and yearend activities; and contributes to payroll system enhancements and process improvements.

The Senior Payroll Analyst partners closely with HR, Finance, and the Lead Payroll Analyst to ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, and wellcontrolled, while mentoring lessexperienced analysts and delivering advanced operational analytics.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (required)
Equivalent experience may be considered (required)

Minimum Work Experience

5 years ofpayrollexperience, including complex, offcycle, or multistate processing (required)
Advanced experience supportingpayrolloperations within Workday, UKG, or equivalent enterprisepayrollplatforms

Required Certifications

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) - preferred
Certified Payroll Professional Preferred - Preferred

Required Skills/Knowledge

Advancedpayrolladministration and tax compliance knowledge
Ability to interpret and applypayrolllaws across multistate environments
Strong experience with audits, reconciliations, and risk mitigation activities
Experience supportingpayrollsystem testing, upgrades, and enhancements
Ability to analyzepayrolltrends and identify control gaps or improvement opportunities
Proficiency in Excel andpayrollrelated analytics
Capability to coach and supportpayrollstaff through knowledge sharing

Functional Accountabilities

AdvancedPayrollAdministration
Execute and support endtoend processing of regular, bonus, retroactive, equity, and offcyclepayrolls
Perform detailed reviews ofpayrollresults to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to internal controls
Configure and validate complex earnings, deductions, and taxation scenarios based on established frameworks
Investigate and resolve escalatedpayrolldiscrepancies and employee inquiries, escalating highrisk issues as appropriate

Tax & Compliance Support
Supportpayrolltax activities including reconciliations, filings, amendments, and issue resolution
Apply federal, state, and local wagehour, tax, and reporting requirements across jurisdictions
Monitor regulatory changes and assist with the implementation of compliantpayrollpractices
Identify potential compliance risks and collaborate with the LeadPayrollAnalyst on mitigation actions
Support yearendpayrollactivities, including W2 preparation, reconciliations, and reporting

Systems & Process Enablement
Participate inpayrollsystem implementations, upgrades, integrations, and testing initiatives
Documentpayrollrequirements and assist with system configuration and validation
Supportpayrollprocess improvements focused on efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity
Assist in evaluating automation or optimization opportunities withinpayrolloperations

Payroll Data & Analysis
Preparepayrollanalytics and reports to support operational and compliance decisionmaking
Analyzepayrolltrends, variances, and anomalies across pay periods
MaintainpayrollKPIs, control metrics, and compliance tracking tools
Summarize findings and provide insights to the LeadPayrollAnalyst and stakeholders

Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration
Provide daytoday guidance and support to juniorpayrollanalysts
Share best practices, documentation, and procedural knowledge
Partner with HR, Finance, Compensation, Benefits, and Tax teams onpayrollrelated initiatives
Support communications withpayrollvendors and agencies under the guidance of seniorpayrollleadership

The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children's National believes an individual's base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children's National compensation philosophy. These factors are legitimate and non-discriminatory including, but not limited to, the current market conditions; organizational needs; the individual's combination of prior work experience, level of education, knowledge, skills, and other qualifications. Children's National is committed to providing a fair and competitive total rewards package to each of our employees. This base salary range does not include our comprehensive benefits package or any additional compensation for which this position may be eligible.
