What is the job: As a Senior Maintenance Technician with Avient, you are responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and/or maintain all equipment in good operating condition as quickly and accurately as possible; while keeping associated costs to a minimum to help meet Plant goals. To be successful in this role you should be multi-skilled and able to contribute to plant maintenance activities in a variety of craft disciplines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Completes projects independently with a proactive approach to design, installation, and improvement.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems, including component-level work.
  • Installs, upgrades, and maintains electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Operates shop equipment and tools to modify and repair parts.
  • Drives equipment reliability through preventative maintenance.
  • Operates utility systems in compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Manages parts sourcing, inventory, and work order documentation.
  • Maintains accurate maintenance records and follows safety, ISO, and environmental standards.
  • Supports departmental operations, including supervisory backup and additional duties as needed.

Physical/Environ. Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear, and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 250 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with the exception of high noise areas. Proper safety personnel equipment needs to be used while performing this job and that equipment is dictated by the plant Safety guidelines.
  • Occasionally works in heights exceeding 30 feet.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, risk of electric shock, vibration, non-hazardous chemical agents, and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Scope

Manufacturing Plant

High School diploma, General Education Diploma (GED)

* Technical School degree or equivalent experience

* Work experience in an industrial operations environment preferred

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals

* Must have mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must have the ability to use conversions, work with different units such as

weight, volume, density, distance, etc.

Final compensation within this range may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
