The Center for Diabetes Technology at the University of Virginia is seeking Registered Nurses to work on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This role involves performing blood draws from indwelling catheters and via fingerstick on study participants, as well as adhering to research study procedures and protocols in both inpatient and on-location settings. Study-specific research training will be provided. Shifts may include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours and are scheduled based on study needs. Employees will work on an as-needed basis (PRN) and will not exceed 40 hours per week. Hourly rate is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year. This will also include a health screening, drug Screen, and education - certification verification. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience required. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.
