The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr HRBP) is a trusted HR partner to leaders within Vizient's Consulting Business Unit, supporting a fast-paced, client-driven consulting environment. This role works closely with leaders to align talent and organizational priorities with business objectives, providing practical HR guidance and solutions that support employee engagement, team effectiveness, and business performance.

Reporting to the AVP, Human Resources and partnering closely with the HRBP team and Centers of Excellence (COEs), the Sr HRBP serves as a dedicated resource for assigned practice areas, helping leaders navigate workforce challenges, support talent initiatives, and drive adoption of people strategies during periods of growth and change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with assigned Consulting BU leaders, providing proactive HR guidance and support that enables strong team performance and client delivery
  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned practice areas, including business priorities, workforce dynamics, talent needs, and organizational challenges
  • Support implementation of people strategies and programs that drive employee engagement, retention, leadership effectiveness, and organizational health
  • Partner with leaders to address employee relations matters, performance concerns, conflict resolution, and team effectiveness challenges
  • Support performance management processes for assigned consulting teams, including goal setting, mid-year and year-end review processes, and performance improvement plans as needed
  • Facilitate talent review discussions and support follow-up development planning activities for key talent and succession candidates
  • Support organizational changes, workforce planning activities, and change management efforts within assigned business areas
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on hiring priorities and workforce planning discussions
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development, Organizational Effectiveness, Compensation, Talent Acquisition, and other HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to deliver integrated people solutions
  • Analyze workforce and employee data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to retention, engagement, turnover, and organizational effectiveness
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and action planning efforts to strengthen culture and employee experience
  • Ensure sound employee relations and compliance practices, partnering with Employee Relations and Legal as appropriate
  • Serve as a trusted coach to managers, helping them effectively navigate employee issues, performance management, communication, and team development

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years supporting leaders as an HR Business Partner or in a comparable HR advisory role
  • Strong interest in supporting fast-paced, client-driven consulting teams and helping leaders solve complex people challenges
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, employee relations, talent management, and organizational effectiveness principles
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibility quickly across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with strong execution and follow-through
  • Experience supporting employee engagement, retention, workforce planning, performance management, and organizational change initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt effectively in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive employee matters

Education - Bachelor's degree required

Work Environment

  • Occasional travel required (1-2x/year)
  • The role is based in Chicago in a hybrid work environment, 3 days per week onsite

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
