Responsibilities

  • Data Accuracy and Documentation
    Maintain accurate and organized test records, analyze and report data, and ensure documentation is complete and traceable. Strong integrity in handling test data is essential.
  • Testing and Reporting
    Conduct testing according to approved test requests, methods, and protocols, and deliver complete reports in a timely manner. Timeliness is important in supporting business and operational needs.
  • Equipment Maintenance
    Calibrate, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and test systems to ensure reliable and accurate performance. Strong hands-on technical ability is important for success in this role.
  • Cross-Functional Communication
    Manage test requests from multiple departments and communicate clearly with requesters regarding test methods, timelines, status, and results.
  • Support Product Development
    Assist in developing appropriate test methods and, when necessary, create new test protocols to evaluate new products, materials, or designs.
  • Support Sales and Field Analysis
    Evaluate products returned from the field or currently in use to help identify performance issues and support customer-related investigations.
  • Support Quality Control
    Inspect and analyze products associated with quality concerns and provide test-based findings to support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support Marketing Activities
    Assist with laboratory demonstrations, equipment preparation, and testing support for trade shows or customer-facing events.
  • Support Production Operations
    Support production floor HEPA filter testing as needed. When issues are identified during routine production testing, assist with troubleshooting equipment, reviewing test methods, and providing training as needed.
  • Safety Compliance
    Follow all applicable safety procedures and company policies, including OSHA requirements, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.

Qualifications

  • Education
    High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Experience
    Previous experience in a manufacturing laboratory, quality control, or testing environment is preferred.
  • Technical Skills
    Strong attention to detail, solid data documentation skills, and the ability to work with testing equipment, instrumentation, electrical systems, controls, and basic mechanical modifications.
  • Mechanical Aptitude
    Ability to operate, set up, troubleshoot, and maintain testing machinery and laboratory equipment.
  • Communication Skills
    Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate test requirements, progress, and results clearly.

Qualifications

  • This position is based primarily in a laboratory environment, with some time spent in an office setting preparing test reports and documentation.
  • Occasional time may be required on the manufacturing floor to support testing, troubleshooting, or production-related activities.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in environments that may at times be noisy and require the use of appropriate PPE, such as masks, safety glasses or goggles, and other protective equipment as required.
