Purpose of the Role Worley is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Test Pack Engineer to support the successful planning, preparation, execution, and completion of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities across project sites. The Test Pack Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining test packs and turnover documentation to ensure systems are tested, verified, and handed over safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, compile, and manage test packs, turnover packages, and completion dossiers in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, and construction documentation to define testing boundaries and system completions.
- Coordinate with Construction, Quality, Engineering, Commissioning, and Client teams to ensure all testing requirements are identified and incorporated into test packs.
- Monitor construction progress and verify completion of work prior to testing activities.
- Ensure all inspection and test records are completed, reviewed, and included within turnover documentation.
- Track test pack status, punch lists, outstanding work items, and system completion progress.
- Support hydrostatic, pneumatic, leak, flushing, functional, and other testing activities as required by project scope.
- Review and validate quality documentation, including inspection reports, material traceability records, calibration certificates, and non-conformance reports.
- Maintain accurate databases and reporting tools to track test pack readiness, completion metrics, and turnover status.
- Facilitate communication between field construction teams and commissioning personnel to ensure efficient system handover.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates regarding test pack progress, constraints, and completion forecasts.
- Identify risks, documentation gaps, or quality concerns that could impact testing and turnover schedules and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulatory codes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to mechanical completion, turnover processes, and documentation management.
- Mentor junior personnel and provide guidance on test pack development, turnover procedures, and project documentation requirements.
Qualifications / Skillset
- University Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Discipline, or equivalent combination of education, trade qualifications, training, and relevant experience.
- Proven experience as a Test Pack Engineer, Mechanical Completion Engineer, Turnover Coordinator, Commissioning Engineer, or related role within industrial, energy, oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and system turnover processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometric drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Experience developing and managing test packs, turnover packages, and quality dossiers.
- Familiarity with hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, and commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and quality requirements applicable to construction and commissioning projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple systems, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, documentation quality, and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems; experience with completions management software
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams within fast-paced construction environments.
- Willingness to travel and work at project or construction sites as required.
