Junior Test Engineer LOCATION:Joint Base San Antonio, TX JOB STATUS:Full-time CLEARANCE: Must have an active TS/SCI clearance Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Test Engineer to directly support the USAF Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division, which is within the USAF Cyber and Networks Directorate and located at Lackland AFB, Texas. QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS:
- US Citizen
- Must have and be able to maintain an Active TS/SCI
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
- Minimum 4 years of experience in technical engineering
- Technical Experience:
- Ability to Integrate with other organizations/teams.
- Experience working with Agile Methodologies
- Experience working in secured environments.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interface skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical and engineering support for major IT Test and Evaluation (T&E)
- Document the review, test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting, data reduction and analysis, and end-user operational testing.
- Use Design of Experiments methods to plan and conduct test programs.
- Independently prepare (or direct others in the preparation of) criteria, computation/analyses, specifications, cost estimates test plans, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise.
- Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problem, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and complexity.
- Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of test engineering tasks.
- Devise new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness.
- Evaluate the configuration, capability, and operational relevance of test environments and ensure they are properly available for the thorough testing of software releases (e.g. fault insertion/fault identification).
- Deconflict schedule conflicts between multiple releases, providing high quality analysis and recommendations to the program test lead.
- Operate with general instructions; but select portions of work are reviewed in detail to measure adequacy of approach, execution, and presentation.
- Perform and/or support capability analyses and COTS/GOTS evaluation, select components, and develop system interfaces to ensure compliance with DoD and commercially accepted standards and requirements.
- Constructs models and simulations of systems to demonstrate the ability to meet user requirements.
- Conducts engineering performance, cost-effectiveness, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessment, and scheduling trade-off studies and document this information in a technical report as directed by the task order.
- Provide aid or guidance as necessary in the accomplishment of other engineering tasks.
