Top-level technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of application, systems analysis, and programming. Acts independently with very little direction. May have duties, such as instructing or leading project application teams. May be asked to work with KS Executive management, in. Shares knowledge and learning with others. Provides technical leadership on complex projects. May act as an expert in a business or functional area. Keeps abreast of new technology. Formulates/defines system scope and objectives. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of application systems analysis. Assists client departments in identifying and designing opportunities for operational improvement, which can be enabled by, improved systems configuration, deployment, acquisition, or development. Provides project management and direction for system related projects. Performs configuration changes and system setup to ensure scope and quality of product. This position plays a key role in advancing population health and value-based care initiatives by designing, optimizing, and maintaining Healthy Planet tools within Epic. This position supports quality improvement, care management workflows, and payer-specific analytics and reporting, with a focus on improving outcomes, closing care gaps, and supporting performance under value-based contracts. The analyst collaborates closely with clinical, care management, quality, and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate data capture, actionable insights, seamless workflows, and compliance with NCQA certified HEDIS measures.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Healthy Planet Configuration & Optimization
    • Configure, maintain, and enhance build to support closing Care Gaps
    • Develop and customize registries, MyPanel metrics, and population specific dashboards to support value based care initiatives and performance monitoring
    • Build and maintain Campaigns and Compass Rose care management programs to support targeted outreach and care gap closure
  • Value-Based Care Analytics
    • Configure HEDIS reporting tools and ensure alignment with NCQA certified measure standards
    • Apply solid knowledge of clinical vocabularies and coding standards, including LOINC, ICD, and CPT, to ensure data accuracy and measure compliance
    • Partner with quality, reporting, and care management teams to enable timely and accurate quality performance tracking across value-based care contracts
  • Population Health Strategy
    • Contribute to the development of population health strategies that improve outcomes and patient experience across the health system
    • Provide subject matter expertise on Healthy Planet functionality to internal stakeholders
    • Ensure system configuration supports operational goals for chronic disease management, preventive care, and payer performance programs
  • Project Management: Define, lead and conduct projects as assigned in accordance with standard KSC project management and documentation standards. Provide consultation for program design, build, interface build/testing, system testing, and documentation. Is a self-starter and resourceful. Provides technical leadership on complex projects
  • Teamwork: Direct and mentor other project team members so that defined objectives and benefits are achieved. Serves as a resource and advocate for assigned user group(s). Establish solid working relationships with members of other application teams/management to ensure proposed system changes are thoroughly vetted and potentially adverse downstream consequences are discovered. Develop and communicate risk mitigation strategies
  • System Development: Work collaboratively or in leading role as part of Application System Project teams. Define and document business/clinical system requirements and workflows. Configure System settings and master files to meet business requirements. Validate system build with business owners through presentations and standardized testing procedures. Provide or lead system go live support, problem resolution and question- and-answer services. Act as technical and project mentor to other less experienced and proficient team members. Assists in development and may be responsible for overseeing testing. Delivers work that is consistently accurate, precise, thorough, neat, ethical, and reliable. Familiar with quality standards and follows all applicable quality guidelines. Understands concepts of process improvement and results to improve the quality of services. Completes all duties as assigned in the required timeframes. Meets deadlines for regular duties and projects
  • System Support: Mentor and coach staff related to ongoing application support, problem resolution and question and answer services. Participate in Application Service Desk duty and 24 x 7 on call program with other team members. Assists Application analysts and Help Desk with escalation of system issues
  • Proficiency: Maintain and share mastery level application knowledge, proficiency and problem solving skills, as well as expert level understanding of standard IT project management, change management/control and service procedures. Serve as technical and application master for other team members, who confront questions and problems, for which assistance is needed
  • Communication/Customer Relations: Maintain effective working relationships with customers, staff, and project sponsors. Assess assigned user areas as needed per project. Maintain direct working relationships with application vendor technical staff, in order to facilitate rapid problem resolution and service delivery, where vendor services are needed. Possesses the ability to effectively communicate relevant information, in a clear and concise manner, at all levels of the organization. Promotes and practices effective listening skills in all interpersonal contacts. Demonstrates competence in grammar and clarity in all oral and written communication
  • Optimization: Leads implementation efforts for system improvements in accordance with KSC standard change control and change management procedures. Communicates system changes to all applicable users. Provides a high level of output and productivity. Meets objectives. Does not waste skills, time and resources. Finds ways to improve processes and control costs
  • Interpersonal Skills: Solid positive attitude, interpersonal and relational skills, ability to make and keep commitments, meet project timelines, and provide outstanding customer service is required. Communication regarding technical matters in language easily understood by non-technical staff is required. Conducts effective meetings and complex IT projects as assigned. Possesses the ability to be flexible in changing situations, meet changing priorities, and solve new and existing problems. Understands the value of adaptability with patients, customers, clinicians and business owners
  • Vendor Relationship: Builds a solid vendor relationship with the systems directly responsible for and/or consulting contracts as needed per project. Ensure contracts are adhered to, maintenance and support SLA's are met, and ensure interfaces are supported per each contract. Responsible to hold vendors responsible when SLA's or maintenance are not met
  • Budget: Helps develop year to year budget with Director each fiscal year. Is responsible to stay within budget
  • Reliability: Can be counted on to arrive and start work on time. Meets expectations for completion of duties as assigned in the required timeframes. Meets deadlines for regular duties and projects without management intervention
  • Certifications: Certification required based on application(s) supported. KSC IT Management will determine if certification is required on an as needed basis
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical/application area or 4+ years equivalent work experience
  • Epic Systems Healthy Planet Certification or be able to attain within 12 months of being hired
  • 4+ years of experience in applicable healthcare or business operations unit, utilizing Healthy Planet or other KSC healthcare applications
  • 4+ years of systems experience with development, analysis, installation and support
  • Solid understanding of clinicalworkflows, care management processes, project management experience in IT, and population health programs
  • Proven technical and analytical aptitude for multiple application points of integration
  • Proven report writing capability
  • Proven communication, presentation, project management, problem-solving, and technical skills are also
  • Ability to assume more than one role on the team
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Valid Texas Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Epic Systems certification in one or more applications
  • 7+ years of experience in applicable healthcare business operations
  • 4+ years or project management/lead experience in IT

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
