Position Overview
The position plays a key role in overseeing operations within a converting facility and supporting overall division performance. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and operational management skills are essential for success in this role. The Division Manager leads and oversees manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while providing strategic direction, coaching, and accountability for on-site leaders and employees. This role directly oversees two (2) leaders and approximately 28 plant employees across two shifts, typically operating Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for day-to-day plant operations and production processes.
  • Drive safety and quality improvements, including reviewing complaints and partnering with the Safety Manager on corrective actions.
  • Lead efforts to achieve production goals by identifying and addressing operational barriers.
  • Set clear expectations and enforce accountability for performance and plant standards.
  • Oversight of production scheduling and workflow planning
  • Cultivate a safe and continuous improvement culture
  • Develop, mentor, and support direct reports and plant employees through training, evaluations, feedback, and disciplinary processes.
  • Collaborate with Production, Scheduling, Customer Service, Marketing, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues and optimize workflows.
  • Participate in strategic planning, capital improvement initiatives, hiring efforts, and coordination of plant supplies, equipment, and vendors.


Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years' experience of leadership in a manufacturing environment, paper, corrugated or other paper converting industry is preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Goal-driven and motivated to reach desired outcomes.
  • Able to positively coach, lead and influence a team.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
