Backed by a team of dedicated professionals and a commitment to continuous improvement, Dyno Nobel sets the standard for reliable and responsible blasting manufacturing and services worldwide What You'll Do As a Static Equipment Engineer, you will support the Static Equipment integrity and reliability effort with a primary focus on turnaround planning and execution through collaboration between the Strategic Engineering specialist resources and the operations teams. You will be responsible for ensuring that all scoped work is risk-based, code-compliant, and aligned with long-term asset integrity plans, while minimizing operational risk, turnaround duration, and lifecycle cost. Other duties include:
Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. (Ensure SAO, JSA, Take 5's, stretching, and all safety rules are being completed.) Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations. Live and foster the Dyno Nobel Corporate Values Lead development of risk-based static equipment scope for turnarounds Translate inspection findings, Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) outputs, and failure history into clear, executable scope Participate in scope challenge and scope freeze processes Evaluate equipment condition and identify end-of-life assets requiring replacement vs deferrable work with documented risk acceptance Develop business cases for capital replacements including risk justification, cost comparison (repair vs replace), and reliability impact Support long-term asset integrity and lifecycle planning Develop and approve ITPs aligned with code, risk, and criticality; Ensure ITPs are executable in the field Generate detailed repair scopes and technical work instructions Support development of work packs that minimize rework and schedule risk Ensure turnaround inspection results are documented, digitally captured (PCMS/SAP) and integrated into future RBI and turnaround planning Validate that turnaround findings translate into updated inspection intervals and revised scope for next turnaround cycle Ensure all scoped and executed work complies with applicable codes (API, ASME, NBIC) and internal engineering standards Identify and implement improvements in turnaround scope definition, work pack quality and completeness, and inspection scope effectiveness
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in metallurgy, materials, mechanical, civil, manufacturing or chemical engineering. Qualifications such as API 510, 570, 653, 581 preferred or working towards certification. 5+ years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering within a petrochemical manufacturing plant, power generation facility, or similar heavy industrial environment. 5+ years of direct experience in the reliability of static equipment including turnaround planning and execution. Demonstrated experience in:
Turnaround scope development, optimization, and risk-based prioritization Development of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) aligned with applicable codes, standards, and owner-user requirements Repair scoping, work pack development, and execution planning Capital replacement evaluation, including technical and economic considerations Real-time technical evaluation and disposition of inspection findings with appropriate risk justification Turnaround close-out activities, including documentation, data validation, and integration into an IDMS.
Knowledge of static plant equipment, materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes and procedures Willing and able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player.
