Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Gage Control Technician to support our manufacturing quality systems through the calibration, maintenance, and control of inspection gages and measuring equipment. This role is critical to ensuring measurement accuracy, compliance with quality standards, and uninterrupted production support. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and experience working with precision measurement instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and continuously improve the gage calibration and tracking system.
  • Perform calibration and periodic layouts of gages and measuring equipment.
  • Conduct gage maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs.
  • Complete daily gage inspections and releases for production use.
  • Perform new gage layouts, correlation studies, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R) studies, and gage releases.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all gage-related activities, including calibrations, layouts, repairs, and correlations.
  • Support and implement computerized calibration tracking and control systems.
  • Order and maintain department supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage external calibration services, including occasional pickup and delivery of gages to approved vendors.
  • Support manufacturing operations by ensuring measurement equipment is available, calibrated, and functioning properly.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance instruments, measuring equipment, and inspection gages.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency in algebra.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of inspection layout techniques, measurement operations, and precision instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of database software and computer applications.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to support manufacturing requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull objects weighing up to 90 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a manufacturing environment.
