Job Family: Trade Compliance and Logistics



Job Overview:


Ensures legal compliance and provides import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations, including appropriate licensing for shipments. Reviews contracts for required clauses and identifies omissions. Interfaces with internal and external customers, foreign order administration, freight forwarders, customs officers and other functional areas to ensure coordination and logistics of shipment. Selects carrier/forwarder for shipment of products and prepares documents for freight forwarders.



Responsibilities:


Serve as the primary global subject matter expert for trade compliance, ensuring import, export, and crossborder operations comply with all applicable customs, security, and regulatory requirements.


Lead and manage a team of logistics and global trade professionals


Prepare export licenses required for dispatch to sanctioned countries


Monitor evolving global trade policies, sanctions, free-trade agreements, and geopolitical developments to provide predictive insights and scenariobased impact assessments to senior leadership.


Oversee accurate HS/HTS classification, customs valuation, documentation standards, and countryoforigin management.


Conduct detailed tariff and duty impact analyses, modeling forwardlooking cost scenarios based on regulatory changes, market shifts, and global risk indicators.


Lead global tariffmitigation initiatives including FTA qualification, duty drawback, Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ), and support with input to origin optimization strategies.


Lead the design and execution of end-to-end global logistics strategies, including freight negotiations, carrier management, and contracting across all transportation modes for inbound, outbound, and crossborder flows.


Build a resilient, agile, and costoptimized logistics network by collaborating with global internal teams, commercial partners, and external providers to ensure industryleading service and customer experience.


Oversee the development and management of global logistics financial plans and budgets, ensuring full transparency of cost drivers and proactive identification of risks and opportunities.


Define, refine, and manage global KPIs to track logistics performance, compliance adherence, cost efficiency, and service reliability.


Use data-driven insights to drive continuous cost, quality, and service improvements across the logistics network


Support complex networkdesign evaluations (facility locations, sizing, outsourcing vs. insourcing, automation investment, and systems integration)


Lead and develop a global logistics and trade compliance organization, ensuring teams are aligned, engaged, and equipped to deliver against strategic priorities.


Provide coaching, clear goal-setting, and continuous feedback to foster high performance and professional growth.


Build a culture of accountability, compliance discipline, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.



Experience Required:


This level generally requires 8-10+ years of experience, with 3-5 years in leadership roles overseeing multiple teams or departments. Individuals must have a strong understanding of tactical planning, resource management, and performance oversight across distinct functional areas. Experience should include stakeholder management, budget control, staffing oversight, and delivering presentations to varied audiences.


Knowledge of global regulations related to logistics, such as import/export and


customs, including security requirements (CTPAT and certification in dangerous goods


handling and aviation security)



Deep knowledge of tariff landscape, evolving sanctions and ability to project and forecast financial impact of same



Minimum of 10 years' experience in the area of Global Logistics, preferably in


medical device or pharma industry


* Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations


Management, or other undergraduate degree plus continuing education in the logistics, trade compliance or extended supply chain management field required


* Experience in leading a team including setting expectations and performance evaluations



* Experience negotiating global freight contracts (inbound and outbound)



* Experience in presenting and owning key updates to leadership groups including setting budgets, forecasted spend and tariff scenario updates

Pay Transparency:


Pursuant to the requirements of applicable State laws and regulations, the starting salary range for this position is $XXX- XXX USD. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
