Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Applications are being accepted for the following vacancy for the Fall 2026 semester on the Faculty staff of Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York.

Department: Health, Physical Education and Exercise Sciences

Instructor Health, Education and Exercise Science HV-FAC-8759

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or Health Education from an accredited college or university. The successful candidate will possess expansive experience in the health and fitness industry, in addition to demonstrated exemplary teaching experience in both physical education and exercise science related courses at the post-secondary level. Responsibilities may include teaching courses in multiple instructional formats for both physical education and exercise science. This position requires daytime, in-person availability. Current certifications in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR and one or more nationally recognized fitness certifications (NSCA, ACSM, NCSF, or equivalent) are required - such certifications should be uploaded with resume/cover letter.
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to create and cultivate strong partnerships and associations with local leaders within the health and fitness industry. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate extensive experience in coordinating, supervising, managing, and evaluating student internships or other experiential learning opportunities.

Demonstrated teacher effectiveness across multiple modalities in higher education is strongly preferred. Experience using D2L Brightspace is preferred.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Instructor will report to the Department Chair for Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science and perform the following duties:
* Provide effective classroom and on-line instruction in both physical education and exercise science related courses within the department.
* Assist with the continuation and growth of departmental partnerships/relationships with local health and fitness facilities.
* Travel locally for the supervision and evaluation of student interns.
* Evaluate student performance and success.
* Participate in departmental, division wide, and college wide committees for the purpose of building community.
* Professional development is strongly encouraged and departmentally supported.
* At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.

The Salary beginning the Fall 2026 academic year is $53,000.00.
