Job Summary

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for assisting the plants and purchasing in monitoring, managing, and maintaining the overall VMI inventory level.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Move in-process materials between workstations as needed.
  • Transport finished goods to inventory yard or warehouse.
  • Band, wrap, pack, and label finished products according to standards.
  • Maintain organized and clean raw material and finished goods storage areas.
  • Assist production teams with bottlenecks and material support.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Complete pre-shift equipment inspections and report issues.
  • Ensure all equipment is safe, clean, and operational.
  • Operate hand tools and equipment required for assembly processes.
  • Follow all forklift operation rules and company safety policies.
  • Inspect materials and finished products to ensure quality and customer specifications are met.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Maintain inventory of production materials and supplies.
  • Prepare production reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Verify production documentation is properly completed and logged.
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory adjustments as required.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc operational reports.
  • Assist with production scheduling and workload balancing.
  • Review pre-shift inspection reports and address concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management.
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) and safety initiatives.
  • Complete work area setup and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and improvement programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent degree preferred
  • 6+ months of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred (not required)
  • Working knowledge of inventory internal controls, and company procedures
  • Working knowledge in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Basic math skills preferred
  • Preferred understanding of company policies, practices, and procedures

Compensation & Benefit Information:

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $24.00 - $27.00 an hour dependent on experience*

*pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay:

Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
