The Level 1 Cable Technician is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low-voltage cabling systems, including data, voice, and video networks. This position works under supervision and is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in structured cabling and telecommunications.
*Key Responsibilities* * Assist in the installation of structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coaxial). * Pull, route, and label cables in commercial or residential environments. * Support senior technicians with cable termination, testing, and troubleshooting. * Organize and maintain cable pathways (e.g., trays, racks, conduits). * Install and mount hardware such as patch panels, network racks, and cable supports. * Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively. * Perform site clean-up and maintain a safe work environment. * Follow industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA) and company procedures. * Document work completed and assist with basic reporting. *Required Qualifications* * High school diploma or equivalent. * Basic understanding of networking concepts (preferred but not required). * Ability to use basic hand tools and follow instructions. * Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. * Ability to work in physically demanding environments (lifting, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces). * Reliable transportation to job sites. * Strong work ethic and punctuality. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
