What this job involves:

We're looking for an experienced Technical Services Site Assessment Specialist to join JLL's Technical Services division in a client-facing role. You'll independently conduct comprehensive facility assessments, deliver technical consulting services, and manage projects from proposal through final deliverable. This position combines technical expertise in critical MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) infrastructure with strong client communication skills and business acumen, supporting data centers and mission-critical facilities.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Conducting comprehensive Critical Environment Gap Assessments (CEGA) for data centers and mission-critical facilities through visual, non-intrusive inspections of MEP systems
  • Inspecting and evaluating UPS systems, generators, PDUs (power distribution units), transformers, electrical distribution, cooling infrastructure (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, evaporative cooling systems), fire suppression and life safety systems (FM200, pre-action sprinklers, VESDA), and building automation and monitoring systems
  • Evaluating equipment condition, redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N), and operational readiness while assessing compliance with industry standards including NFPA 110, NFPA 70, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, and ASHRAE
  • Identifying single points of failure, deferred maintenance, and infrastructure gaps, then documenting findings through detailed photographic records and equipment condition matrices
  • Conducting generator systems feasibility studies including load analysis and right sizing recommendations, developing UPS replacement strategies with phased implementation plans maintaining operational redundancy, and performing HVAC design analysis and system replacement concept development
  • Evaluating cooling system capacity, redundancy, and failure response scenarios while analyzing aging infrastructure and providing remaining useful life assessments
  • Serving as primary client contact during site visits and assessment activities, conducting stakeholder interviews with facility management, engineering, and maintenance personnel, and coordinating site access, escorts, and logistics for multi-day field investigations
  • Delivering virtual and in-person presentations of findings to client leadership teams and translating complex technical issues into actionable business recommendations
  • Generating detailed technical proposals including scope definition, deliverables, and pricing, developing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates for capital improvements, tracking project hours, expenses, and profitability metrics, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget parameters, and identifying opportunities for follow-on services and scope expansions
Desired experience and technical skills: Requirements:
  • Proven experience conducting facility assessments and technical evaluations of data centers or mission-critical facilities
  • Strong technical knowledge of critical MEP infrastructure including UPS systems, generators, PDUs, transformers, electrical distribution, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, evaporative cooling systems, fire suppression systems (FM200, pre-action sprinklers, VESDA), and building automation systems
  • Understanding of redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N), industry standards (NFPA 110, NFPA 70, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ASHRAE), and best practices for mission-critical environments
  • Experience with proposal development, ROM cost estimating, and project management including budget tracking and profitability analysis
  • Excellent client communication and presentation skills with ability to translate complex technical issues into actionable business recommendations
  • Ability to work independently, conduct stakeholder interviews, and manage multiple projects simultaneously from proposal through final deliverable
  • Willingness to travel for multi-day site visits and field investigations
Preferred:
  • Professional certifications related to data center operations, facility management, or critical systems
  • Experience with Uptime Institute Tier Standards and data center tier classifications
  • Background in engineering, facilities management, or technical consulting services
  • Familiarity with building automation and monitoring systems
  • Experience with HVAC design analysis, cooling system capacity evaluation, and aging infrastructure assessments
  • Knowledge of generator load analysis, UPS phased implementation strategies, and remaining useful life assessments

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Estimated compensation for this position:

170,500.00 - 170,500.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
