Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Coordinates programming and operation of CMM equipment to include Wenzel and LK Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) in an aerospace manufacturing environment engaged in the production of precision machined components. Perform dimensional layouts, 1st / 5th inspections using CMMs, calipers and other general measurement equipment. MODUS software is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:



  • Read blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications.
  • Compare recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances and notify specified persons of discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement computer programs using Wenzel and LK CMMs.
  • Ability to manage time and resources to ensure that operational requirements are satisfied through CMM inspections.
  • Good mathematical skills, experienced in geometry and trigonometry.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Manual inspection experience.


Education & Experience Required:



  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in the programming of CMM's
  • Strong understanding of off line programming
  • Prior experience in various inspection techniques, i.e., 1st piece, in-process, final inspections
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Hands-on bench inspection experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of MS Word, and Excel
