Job Description




As a Security Officer New York Licensed Patroller in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support people with exceptional customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a public service location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report conditions to site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, common areas, and authorized access points, verify credentials when required, and document security-related incidents, observations, and daily activity in written reports.
  • Support order at the location by providing direction to the public, de-escalating confrontational behavior when possible, and following post orders related to access control, visitor management, and emergency procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
