DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role oversees resident care and supervises nursing staff to ensure safe, effective services across assigned areas. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:

  • General Supervision: Provide guidance and direction to nursing staff during daily care and treatment activities
  • Staff Leadership: Plan, assign, and evaluate work while addressing training needs and performance issues
  • Resident Monitoring: Observe resident conditions and ensure changes are reported and documented appropriately
  • Scheduling Oversight: Assign adequate personnel coverage and review time and attendance information for accuracy
  • Safety Compliance: Identify safety concerns and take corrective actions to protect residents and staff
  • Care Planning: Monitor documentation and assessment tools to ensure accurate and current resident information

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM) and 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM), with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
