What you'll do

We're seeking a passionate leader to spearhead Quality Improvement Initiatives and Process Improvements, empowering our business and programs to deliver exceptional antenna systems to our customers. This exciting role offers the chance to collaborate with a diverse, cross-functional team spanning Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and fellow Quality professionals, all dedicated to advancing the field of antenna systems.

As a Lead Quality Engineer, you will work closely with the program management and product development teams to ensure strategic quality goals are met. The position is key to building strong internal and external relationships that support current and future growth within the Antenna Systems business in Duluth (Suburb of Atlanta), GA


The day-to-day

  • Act as a lead in Integrated Program Team (IPT) and lead all aspects of Quality Implementation in new products
  • Set priorities in line with business needs
  • Oversee Antenna/Ground System programs, product development, contracts, and engineering groups for upcoming bids and proposals covering key QA requirements
  • Team with supply chain to drive strategic goals that support business area needs
  • Present key outputs to senior leadership as needed covering QA goals and metrics
  • Ensure advanced Product Quality Planning is deployed across the New Product Development Life Cycle with quality built into the design. (DFMEA/PFMEA experience desired)

What you'll need

  • 5+ years' as a Quality Engineer with experience in aerospace, and/or defense environment including Design, Manufacturing, and implementation of Quality Management Systems
  • Proven ability to assist business development groups with new bids and proposals
  • Experience in interpreting contract requirements covering quality requirements and quality planning with the skill to develop estimates for new bids/proposals
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 requirements
  • Lead all aspects of Quality Implementation in new products and set priorities in line with business needs
  • Ability to lead customer interactions and manage all aspects of Program Quality with the customer
  • Work as a part of Integrated Program Team and ability to lead all aspects of Quality Implementation through the life cycle of product
  • Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, contracts, specifications and engineering drawings. Understanding of RF equipment, interconnect diagrams, cabling, electromechanical, welding, fabrications, painting/plating, etc.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional team environment, Engineering, Operations, Material Management and Supplier Quality across a wide range of products
  • Experience in management of Non-Conforming Materials (NMRs), driving root-cause investigations and implementing Corrective/Preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing world-class quality practices, including using tools like Pareto Analysis, Histograms, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and 8D, along with other business tools to streamline analysis
    Prior experience in using Quality Tools: 8D, 5-Why, DFMEA/PFMEA, CAPA, APQP, Gauge R&R
  • Coordinate Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Failure Analysis Requests (FARs) to implement improvement
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement CARs and drive process improvements
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing Eng) or equivalent experience
  • US Government position. US citizenship required
  • Ability to travel up to 15% as needed

Salary range

$99,500.00 - $157,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $123,500.00- $185,500.00/ annually
