CNC Machinist I / II

Employment Type: Direct Hire through Advantage Technical

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Pay: $23-$30 per hour, based on experience

Travel: None


Position Summary

Advantage Technical is seeking CNC Machinists at the Level I and Level II experience levels.

The CNC Machinist will manufacture and inspect high-precision components of varying complexity. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machine tools, interpreting technical drawings and work instructions, inspecting completed parts, and maintaining accurate production records.

The successful candidate will be accountable for the quality and quantity of completed work while following established safety, quality, and production standards.


Key Responsibilities


  • Set up and operate CNC machine tools in accordance with company procedures, policies, and production standards.



  • Perform repetitive and precision machining operations.



  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, and work instructions.



  • Inspect machined components to verify dimensional accuracy and quality requirements.



  • Identify and report defects, dimensional discrepancies, or machining concerns.



  • Upload, download, transmit, and receive CNC programs as required.



  • Maintain accurate computerized and manual production records.



  • Follow all shop safety procedures and employee expectations.



  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.



  • Work cooperatively with machinists, supervisors, inspectors, and other production employees.



  • Perform other duties as assigned.




Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.



  • One to eight years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.



  • Previous CNC machining experience appropriate to the position level.



  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and work instructions.



  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.



  • Basic computer skills.



  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.



  • Ability to work professionally and cooperatively within a team environment.




Preferred Qualifications


  • Technical, vocational, or trade-school training in machining, manufacturing, or a related field.



  • Experience inspecting precision-machined components.



  • Familiarity with CNC programs and computerized production-record systems.




Experience Levels
CNC Machinist I


  • Entry-level to intermediate CNC machining or manufacturing experience.



  • Approximately one to four years of relevant experience.



  • Ability to perform machining and inspection tasks with general supervision.




CNC Machinist II


  • At least five years of relevant manufacturing and CNC machining experience.



  • Strong experience setting up and operating CNC equipment.



  • Ability to independently perform machining, inspection, and production-documentation responsibilities.




Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stand and move throughout the machine shop for the duration of the shift.



  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, talk, and hear.



  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.



  • Adequate corrected vision to read technical documents and drawings and inspect machined components.




Additional Information


  • This is a full-time, hourly, direct-hire position with great benefits.



  • The position does not have supervisory responsibilities.



  • Compensation will be determined based on CNC machining experience and position level.



The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
