Location: Minneapolis, MN

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Monday - Friday with some weekend OT if needed)

Training Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:00 (Monday - Friday for 2 months)

What You'll Bring:



  • High school diploma / GED / or at least 2 years of recent and relevant work history.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Successful previous experience working in a logistics or shipping/receiving work environment.
  • Previous experience in safely operating forklifts and other shop equipment.
  • A high level of attention to detail in juggling multiple duties/responsibilities.
  • Must have the ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment.
  • Experience, willingness, and ability to work in a shop environment and to work various shifts on various days as required, including having a flexible work schedule to perform auditing and training on various shifts.
  • The ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
  • A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage inventory control and inventory accuracy in a fast-paced 24/7 locomotive shop environment, including cycle counts, stock audits, and inventory reporting.
  • Pull, issue, receive, and restock materials while ensuring all parts are accurately assigned, documented, and tracked within Oracle and warehouse management systems.
  • Forecast material requirements for inbound and in-shop locomotives to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent stock shortages.
  • Coordinate LTL, expedited, and Hazmat shipments using transportation portals, ensuring accurate Bills of Lading (BOLs), customs documentation, and shipping compliance.
  • Perform quality control checks on inbound and outbound shipments, resolve discrepancies, and support timely delivery of critical materials.
  • Retrieve and process repair cycle assets, warranty cores, and commodity inventory to support efficient repair turnaround and material availability.
  • Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely, complete daily inspections, and maintain compliance with all workplace safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • Read mechanical drawings and technical documentation to identify correct materials, parts, and inventory requirements for locomotive maintenance operations.
  • Support warehouse operations through order fulfillment, physical inventory coordination, material transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized facility.
  • Work effectively in physically demanding industrial environments, including standing, walking, climbing on locomotives, operating computers, and working overnight or extended shifts as needed.
