Position Overview
The University of Kansas, School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, is seeking candidates for a one semester appointment as an instructor (instructional faculty position) for the Fall, 2026 semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching PHPR 620: Ethical, Legal, and Cultural Issues in Patient Care course for PharmD students.
Job responsibilities will include teaching PHPR 620 including but not limited to: developing and facilitating educational experiences for this didactic class, as well as student assessment for this portion of the course via exams, quizzes, assignments, or other appropriate measures of student achievement. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide office hours for students in the course, either in-person or online. Preferred candidates will have experience and training in healthcare ethics, and strong verbal and written communication skills. The Instructor is an instructional faculty position that is not eligible for tenure or promotion in rank. This is a term appointment for the Fall 2026 semester. Renewal will be based upon unit needs and funding as well as performance that meets expectations, not to exceed two continuous semesters. This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement between The University of Kansas and United Academics, United Academics of KU, AAUP, or AFT. UAKU is the exclusive representative.
