OVERVIEW Merrick & Company is seeking a motivated and passionate on-call Environmental Scientist in Tampa, Florida. We are looking for an individual who desires to begin/excel in their career, provide top quality environmental compliance and environmental permitting support. The prospective candidate will assist with ecological field assessments for projects across multiple sectors including Transportation, Space, Water and Whitewater Restoration under the guidance and supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist. WHAT YOU'LL DO Protected species surveys Wetland delineations Data analysis Prepare and edit NEPA documents Assist with environmental permitting REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's and/or master's degree in environmental science or related field 0-2 years of experience in conducting species surveys, wetland delineations, and report writing Detail oriented, proactive individual who takes ownership of their work Experience in or exposure related to the following topic areas are a plus: field work, gopher tortoise surveys, wetland delineations, technical writing Experience with ArcGIS is a plus Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work well in a team environment Interpersonal skills, a desire to learn and collaborate, highly organized, ability to balance multiple tasks Motivational spirit to learn new skills and seek feedback #LI-Hybrid PERKS Employee Owned - all eligible U.S. employees have an Employee Stock Ownership Account.
