SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Cash Services Specialist to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.

Through collaboration with Consumer Banking and other Operational teams, a Cash Services Specialist II provides technical and managerial support for cash related services for ATM, Branch, commercial customers, and all cash service providers. This position is responsible for cash management, transportation efficiencies and cash optimization across the bank's footprint. This position requires strong analytical skills to facilitate cash management.

This position is responsible for monitoring vault levels to ensure inventories maintain an optimal level while minimizing cross-shipping exposure and enhancing custodial inventory. All branches and ATMs are dependent on the availability of currency and coin; it is critical for inventories to be sufficient without negatively affecting the bank's FRB depository standing. This position is also responsible for ensuring all cash vendor vaults are balanced and all discrepancies investigated and resolved immediately.

A Cash Services Specialist is responsible for staying apprised of new and emerging technologies across any applicable product lines; participate in constant analysis and reworking of existing business processes as well as identifying and developing the capability to leverage the functionality of all related applications.

The position supports the development and documentation of internal processes, policies, workflows, reporting, project planning, and project execution. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides customer support to Consumer Banking to ensure cash service needs are fulfilled.
  • Possesses cash management skills to enable forecasting, ordering and delivery of cash for the bank's ATM fleet and all branches across the SSB footprint.
  • Forecasts and monitors cash flow ensuring vault inventories are maintained at optimal level while minimizing cross-shipping exposure.
  • Serves as the liaison between Consumer Banking and cash service providers to ensure a coordinated effort in preventing interruptions in branch cash service
  • Monitors General Ledgers related to branch and ATM cash ensuring all outages are researched and brought to final resolution while keeping management apprised of all situations resulting in a potential financial loss.
  • Serves as line of defense to identify potential cash vendor or FLM fraud.
  • Assists with development and maintenance of departmental documentation on process and procedures.
  • Assists with testing and validation for system upgrades, enhancements, or other changes as needed.
  • Performs audits of physical vaults ensuring vendors are meeting operational, safety and security procedures as detailed in master service agreements.
  • Assists the ATM team with all ATM moves, adds, and changes, ensuring cash is handled securely and parameters are properly set in EPOC to avoid negative customer impact.
  • Must ensure all SOX, Compliance, Audit and OCC regulation and controls are met and no repeat findings reported.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of managing ATM and Branch cash flow to include vault inventory, cash orders, and shipments
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, time management, and sound judgement skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for interaction with senior management.
  • Skilled at navigating Windows, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite, and cash management software applications
  • Requires demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and shift priorities in a face-paced environment.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent work experience required

Minimum Experience

  • Two years of banking experience with a preferred focus in cash management, ATM balancing and general ledger reconcilement.
  • Two years' experience with Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel
  • Experience in managing projects
  • Advanced analytical skills along with strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Vendor management experience

Training Requirement/Classes:

  • Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position can sit remotely in one of these states: FL, GA, AL, VA, SC, NC, TX, CO.

This position may be remote or located in a cubicle environment that requires professional behavior.

If applicable, for telecommuters or hybrid: Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $49,863.00 - $79,653.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
