We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a VP CPT Product Management (Hybrid) on our Health Solutions team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

This role will lead the Product Management functions for AMA's CPT
(CPT) data assets. Drive innovation
and delivery of market leading health care products and services. Develop the strategic direction and
provide business leadership for the continued growth of the product portfolio. Identify, develop, and champion innovation and new initiatives that demonstrate that the AMA
is the authoritative source of trusted, essential data and solutions. Drive the
AMA vision to be the recognized leader in delivering customer-centric, dynamic,
and relevant data and solutions that are indispensable and drive transformation
in the healthcare ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

CPT Product Management
*Lead the HS CPT product portfolio that includes commercially available CPT products as well internal systems used to support the CPT Editorial process.
*Formalize and embed a product portfolio management process within HS to preserve current revenue streams while developing new streams based on strategic market opportunities.
*Lead development/implementation of the strategy for HS CPT product portfolio to ensure its long-term relevancy and viability. Ensure the product strategy and delivery meet the expectations of the marketplace and maximize contribution margin.
*Ensure strong relationships with customers, prospects and partners are fostered to develop a
deep understanding of their current business processes and product needs. Maintain awareness of industry trends focusing on future opportunities or potential threats to the business.
*Lead the product team in identifying new products and/or business opportunities: develop a formalized business plan that incorporates financial, competitive and market analysis. In conjunction with the Director Product Research formalize the go-to-market plan.
*Collaborate with others in the AMA and external organizations to advance CPT as an industry standard, supporting interoperability, research securing CPT as the continued foundation to report medical procedures.

Portfolio Management
*In collaboration with the VP Data Product Development, formalize and embed a product portfolio management process within HS to preserve current revenue streams while developing new streams based on strategic market opportunities.
*Establish the HS Product Portfolio roadmaps.

Leadership
*Externally represent the AMA as an expert on CPT to the healthcare industry.
*Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the organization's ability to meet its strategic, financial data and product launch goals.
*Member of the HS Leadership team which develops HS Strategic and Operational Plans.

Staff Management
*Lead, mentor, and provide management oversight for staff.
*Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating employee performance, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
*Responsible for developing staff knowledge and skills to support career development.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business or marketing required, advanced degree a plus.

  2. Minimum 15+ years of comprehensive product management experience working in products, services and general management in technology and/or a health-related field.

  3. Experience with health-related data, standards and processes preferred.

  4. Minimum 10+ years experience in people management required; able to attract and develop staff.

  5. Extensive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.

  6. Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and converting strategy into actionable initiatives.

  7. Demonstrated program management and complex multi-faceted project management experience.

  8. Demonstrated leadership ability to drive results as well as lead across the organization through influence and collaboration

  9. Proven ability to integrate people, processes and technology.

  10. Strong leadership skills necessary to be successful as a change agent and drive employee commitment and engagement.

  11. Some travel required.

The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $239,292-$323,044. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
