We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a VP Data Product Development (Hybrid) on our Health Solutions team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

This role will provide leadership for the
strategy, growth, and performance of the VeriCre credentialing solutions
portfolio and the broader Physician Professional Data business within the
American Medical Association. Accountable for driving product innovation,
market expansion, and revenue growth across database licensing, credentialing
solutions, and the Physician Verification Service. Lead product management and
data operations to ensure the delivery of trusted, high-quality physician data
assets while advancing new market opportunities, strengthening customer value,
and aligning the portfolio with enterprise strategic priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Physician Professional Data Product Management
* Lead the Health Solutions Physician Professional Data product portfolio, establishing portfolio management processes and product roadmaps that sustain current revenue streams while advancing new market opportunities. Set enterprise expectations for product development priorities.
* Lead annual and quarterly planning process to intake and prioritize projects to ensure strategic alignment and optimal resource allocation.
* Oversee and ensure the consistent reporting reports on the status and health of Health Solutions portfolio projects.
* Lead the development and dissemination of project management best practices, empowering all Health Solutions team members to contribute to project delivery.
* Drive change management efforts to facilitate the adoption of new standards and processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within Health Solutions.
* Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of multiple, simultaneous projects, ensuring consistency with Health Solutions goals.


Physician Professional Data Strategy and Governance
* Lead the strategy, stewardship, and operations of Physician Professional Data across the AMA, ensuring the acquisition, quality, and management of trusted physician data assets that support enterprise priorities and decision-making.
* Drive the evolution and strategic use of physician data assets to support key organizational initiatives and stakeholders, including Advocacy, Medical Education, and the Center for Optimal Health Outcomes.
* Partner with DataLabs and the Enterprise Data Office to advance data quality, analytics, and governance, establishing performance metrics, dashboards, and standards that improve transparency, operational efficiency, and enterprise data integrity.
* Serve as the enterprise authority on Physician Professional Data, providing strategic guidance, education, and data services while ensuring trusted access to physician data, reports, and tools that maximize enterprise value.
* Responsible for leading the AMA cross-functional Physician Professional Data Steering Committee.
* Represent the AMA in the market, including government entities, as an expert on physician data through key relationships; maintaining communications with other organizations to remain current on products, legislation, and competitive developments.


Credentialing Solutions
* Own the strategic direction and growth of the VeriCre credentialing solutions portfolio, establishing the vision, roadmap, and investment priorities to expand market adoption and revenue.
* Drive market expansion and commercialization strategy, identifying new market opportunities, partnerships, and product capabilities that strengthen VeriCre's competitive position within the healthcare credentialing ecosystem.
* Lead cross-functional execution across product, technology, operations, sales, and marketing, ensuring coordinated delivery of product innovation, customer value, and operational performance.
* Oversee the financial performance and business outcomes of the VeriCre portfolio, including revenue growth, product investment prioritization, and long-term sustainability of the credentialing business line.
* Represent VeriCre at the enterprise leadership level, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, advancing strategic partnerships, and positioning the credentialing portfolio as a key driver of Health Solutions growth.
* Champion innovation in credentialing data, workflow, and interoperability, ensuring VeriCre continues to evolve with, or set industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.


Staff Management
* Lead, mentor, and provide management oversight for staff.
* Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating employee performance, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
* Responsible for developing staff knowledge and skills to support career development.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required, master's degree strongly preferred

  2. 15+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or equivalent role for a solution provider focused on physician data

  3. 10+ years of leadership leading cross-functional teams with enterprise-wide programs, operating, and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex environments.

  4. 10+ years experience in people management required; able to attract and develop talent

  5. Experience in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment that favors decisive action; takes initiative and assumes additional responsibility without being asked.

  6. Strong business acumen to develop and convey recommendations and influence leadership.

  7. Strong oral and written communications skills; able to express complex business concepts effectively.

  8. Ability to lead large cross-functioning teams while driving growth. Strong leadership skills necessary to be a successful change agenda and drive employee commitment and engagement.

  9. Demonstrated expertise in the use of metrics and analytics to drive actionable recommendations.

  10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of management, functional leadership and outside business partners.

  11. Proficiency in financial analysis and business planning methodologies and the ability to ensure the integration and optimization of people, process, and technology.

  12. Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and converting strategy into actionable initiatives.

  13. Able to work long hours, when necessary, attend educational events, and meet with vendors and high-level business leaders.

  14. Some travel required.

The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $$239,292-$323,044. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
