The person selected for the role of Contract Development Manager will own the development of contracts between GSK and multiple Group Purchasing Organizations. This is a critical role in ensuring patient access to GSK's medicines and protecting GSK from legal, financial, operational, and reputational risk.

Position Summary:

The person in this role will work closely with the Account Teams, Legal, Compliance, Contract Analytics, Contract Operations and Market Access Strategy to ensure contracting strategies, terms and conditions are accurately memorialized. They will also be responsible for interfacing externally with Traditional and Specialty Group Purchasing Organizations ("GPO"). The person selected for this position will report to the Director of Purchaser Contracting.

As a result, this is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work from the Philadelphia or Durham office a minimum of two days per week on average.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Draft and manage multiple GPO contract documents and serve as the expert on contract terms and conditions.

  • Frequently collaborate with the Account Team, Contract Analytics, Market Access Strategy and Contract Operations to inform on contact language, share insights regarding stakeholder implications of contracting strategies, understand and implement contract changes and ensure operational feasibility.

  • Draft, review & redline contract language and rebate agreements. Interface directly with multiple GPOs regarding contract negotiations and bid submissions.

  • Mitigate revenue leakage through completing rebate payment reviews and approvals and initiating approval escalation.

  • Understand Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABAC), other GSK policies, and relevant pharmaceutical laws and regulations to ensure appropriate language is incorporated in relevant contracts to minimize legal, financial, operational and reputational risk to GSK.

  • Partner with Legal on contract language updates.

  • Ensure contract documentation is stored and properly organized in the required repositories in a timely manner.

  • Partner with Business Risk and Compliance to support internal and external audits and to ensure risks are effectively monitored.

  • Build and foster relationships with many cross-functional teams.

  • Communicate key status updates to leadership and other stakeholders in a timely manner.

  • Manage special projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness, simplify, and meet customer needs.

  • Provide ad hoc support to leadership.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • 5+ years post graduate work experience in a corporate environment

  • 3+ years of experience in contract management, contract analysis, contract writing, market access, OR pharmaceutical account management

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience writing contracts within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Understanding of the US healthcare environment

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with team members and cross functionally in a highly matrixed role

  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority deliverables at a time

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and able to train others as necessary

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to take ownership and accountability

  • Financial acumen, demonstrating an understanding of financial implications associated with contract terms and conditions

  • Demonstrated success driving improvements to established processes and procedures

  • Proficiency in linking disparate information and data to enable insights and solutions

Work arrangement:
This role is hybrid. You will be expected to work on-site in a designated US office a minimum of two days per week on average. Occasional travel may be required.
